| Help us saving our coastal &
marine heritage! |
|
In many places the natural and cultural heritage is at risk
as a result of the economic and political circumstances due
to the priority for the economy. Voluntary organisations are
having a difficult time; some are now collaborating in the Fellowship
of the Coast in a joint effort to save our coastal and marine
heritage from overexploitation and overfishing.
The Friends of the Coast campaign
The aim of the campaign is to mobilise public awareness
and support for the conservation and restoration of coastal
and marine wildlife, ecosystems, landscapes and cultural heritage.
Friends of the Coast support the work of the Fellowship organisations
by endorsing a Mission Statement.
Friends of the Coast Volunteer Programme
There is more to do than voluntary organisations can handle,
especially in these testing times. We are currently selecting
suitable opportunities for hands-on work to support natural
and cultural heritage: monitoring wildlife, management, restoration,
clean-up activities, or help making boardwalks and observation
points, … in an area of your own choice. Maybe a day or
two of your holidays?
