Introduction
 
EUCC-Portugal has initiated its activity in the course of the year 1987, and counts now with members of several governmental and non-governmental organizations involved with coastal management. The activities promoted aimed to involve experts, practitioners and researchers in the discussion of the related themes to the Integrated Coastal Management.
 
Recent activities of EUCC-Portugal
 
XXI Littoral Action, 2006
During a workshop devoted to Agenda 21, held in Lisbon from January 27 through 28, coastal practitioners and researchers considered the challenges posed by the implementation of strategic sustainable development policies; a basis for the implementation of a Littoral Agenda 21 for Portugal was initiated.
 

ICCCM’07, 2007
The second and most recent international event of the International Conference on Coastal Conservation and Management (ICCCM) series gathered at Hammamet – Tunisia, between March 22 through 26, professionals and coastal managers to discuss issues linked to the integrated coastal zone management, the sustainability of coastal destinations and the erosion. Implementation strategies, management case studies and good practices have been presented. Some selected papers presented at ICCCM’07 will be published in a special issue of the Journal of Coastal Conservation edited by Springer on Planning and Management.
