LITTORAL International Conferences

Since 1987, the EUCC has been organizing biannual conferences on coastal and marine issues. Originally held under the name Coastlines until 1999, these conferences joined forces with Eurocoast in 2002, giving rise to the LITTORAL International Conferences.

Held every two years at universities across Europe, LITTORAL conferences are promoted and guided by EUCC, an NGO based in the Netherlands with the most established and extensive network of coastal stakeholders. This network spans the Mediterranean, Black Sea, Baltic Sea, Irish Sea, and Atlantic Ocean, connecting academics, policy-makers, and practitioners.

The conferences focus on the littoral zone—the dynamic interface between land and sea—covering a wide range of themes and topics relevant to coasts. Through the LITTORAL brand, EUCC continues to provide a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and dialogue among the diverse coastal community.
